Here at One Step Up Childcare we believe in providing children with the highest quality of care allowing each child to reach their fullest potential, by enhancing all areas of growth and development, in a safe, warm caring, and home like environment that reflects our children, families and our community.
Our team strive to do this through providing a very positive environment where all staff, children, and our families are made to feel welcome and are considered to share an important place within our centre regardless of their gender, race, culture, or religious beliefs.
Each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests are the foundation of our program and children are supported and encouraged to participate in the program in which their agency is promoted, enabling them to make their own choices and decisions that influence their world, ensuring they are active participants in their learning.
We acknowledge the original owners of our land, the Dharawal speaking people, along with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community and their languages.
We believe as part of this community we have a responsibility to maintain a sense of belonging and promote secure attachments with our children and greater community.
We strive to foster a connection to the land, recognise and value our shared Aboriginal history, culture and to actively embrace and share the message of reconciliation.
What makes us special is our commitment to provide each child with an unprecedented level of individual care, quality education, and genuine love, all of which are guided by our core values.
At One Step Up Childcare we extend well beyond just providing a safe and caring environment for our children. We believe that innovation drives development in our little ones. By exposing our children to a variety of different experiences and activities, we help them take pride in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. This commitment to quality early learning helps us ensure each child’s best start to life.
Our collaborative approach encourages diversity and inclusion, ensuring every child feels accepted and develops the ability to think, imagine and play freely as they start their life’s journey.
Most importantly, our commitment to integrity to our children and parents is ensured in our promise to apply high ethical standards every day through the use of National Regulations and Laws.
Our mission is to ensure a sustainable future for our children and through continuous improvement, we strive to be better tomorrow than we are today.

Learning about sustainability starts with everyday practice.
Babies and toddlers can begin by watching adults model these behaviours and they may learn through song or rhyme as educators verbalise what they are doing.
As children develop awareness and understanding, they begin to reason why practices are needed and to understand the impact that their actions have on the planet.
Sustainable practices are embedded in the children’s daily routine and in their day-to-day activities, these may include:

Here at One Step Up Childcare, children are given endless opportunities to explore the exciting fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
Children are always curious and eager to solve problems. This is why we have implemented STEAM into our curriculum to encourage children to design, create, test, observe and experiment while they connect to real world problems and explore a range of open-ended materials to problem solve. STEAM encourages children to be imaginative and innovative in a collaborative environment with space to investigate a problem over an extended period of time. This allows them opportunities to engage in sustained shared thinking.
